PLACES I'VE WORKED

SYSTEM & DATA SCIENCE
RESEARCH INTERN

September 2018 - Present

I am responsible for developing scripts to extract data from the oracle database and calculate the travel time by buses between the routes and other functionalities. Along with that I am building database clusters with mongoDB, replicating the router to increase performance and adding multiple shards to reduce failure rates.

WEB ASSISTANT

April - September 2018

I was responsible for carrying out redesign, creation and updation of the internal website. I also designed a new responsive and dynamic mobile friendly, and accessible website. Along with this I designed multistep Request More Information forms to collect user data.

COURSE ASSISTANT

January - May 2018

I assisted professor as a Teaching Assistant for a graduate level Computer Networking course, in the Computer Science Engineering department. I also lead class discussions and answering student questions. Along with that I evaluated student projects, tests and other assessments and maintained their progress.

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE

June 2016 - March 2017

My work was to keep a track over the customers who are being linked with our applications and check for fake conversion. I was also linked with the supervision of the API integration of all offers linked with the mobile applications as well as worked on Server to Server integration. Along with that, I used to run digital marketing campaign for our client's mobile applications and also dealt with the testing of the applications which were been developed.

SKILLS

Programming Languages: Python, C, Java, Bash Scripting, MySQL

Big Data Tools: Spark, Hadoop, MapReduce, AWS, Docker

Software/Technologies: Tableau, Google Cloud, Matlab, Latex, Eclipse, GNS3, Wireshark, Git

I have worked with:

PROJECTS

  • Pill Detect (Social Good Hackathon)

This project aimed to educate people about the medication pill, in-case of lost prescription or torn off bottle label. It was done by extracting the Imprint from the tablet/pill using AWS Rekognition, and shape and color using OpenCV and Python, which was then analyzed with the NLM database.
  • Movie Rating and Prediction Model

This project utilizes the IMDB data set to generate meaningful insights and create a movie rating model and do sentiment analysis of user tweets. And also create an accurate Machine Learning model to predict average movie ratings based on some key features and make the system scalable by using big data technologies.
  • Twitterazi (HackNY Hackathon)

Twitterazzi is aimed to free you with the thought of thinking about the hashtags while posting on twitter. It is a web application, where we can capture a live shot which is processed through Clarifai's API to provide relevant twitter hashtags, which are then automatically posted on your twitter wall using Twitter API.
  • Yelp Data Analysis

This project dealt with analyses of JSON queries and writting scripts to extract the businesses and review them per city and category and then write scripts to extract businesses within the particular range on the basis of average stars and then visualized the output.
  • Feed A Homeless (HackNYU Hacakthon)

The project aimed to help prevent food waste and ensuring that the homeless can find a meal easily. For this purpose we designed an interactive web application to check-in and share the location of a homeless person which was stored using database queries and the Google cloud SQL.
  • Password Analyzer and Cracker

I developed a tool tool for cryptanalysis of hash password from SHA1 and SHA256 to plain text using the wordlist designed. This wordlist was created by analyzing the commonly used passwords and through the method of permutation and communication.
  • Network Redesign Model

This project involved implementation of a public and private IP address sub-netting schema. Further, while designing the global network, I had to analyze the proper bandwidth allocation as well as develop a protocol stack for the 5 OSI layers and provide a security mechanism for the encryption of the network.
  • Remote Controlled Rover

This was a multifaceted robot involving concepts of robotics, networking and image processing, which could be controlled wirelessly through any system. It sent live transmission, which was processed for facial recognition using Principal Component Analysis algorithm.
  • Autonomous Bot

The aim of this bot was to push the opponent out of the arena by increasing its speed as soon as it hits the opponent. It used infrared sensor to distinguish between black and white color to keep the bot inside the arena. It could also work as a line follower.

SAY HI!

I strongly believe that success is the sum of doing small efforts, repeated day in and out. With this belief, I have always endeavoured towards utilising even the smallest opportunity to their full potential. Keeping this in mind, I started with my Graduate studies and am currently pursuing Masters of Science in Computer Science.
